As you saw on the lettering page, the fonts were "enhanced" to give them extra energy. With a few simple modifications you can enhance the mood or feeling.
Using a program like Photoshop makes this very easy to do. Let's take a look at a few steps toward font greatness.
We start with the font impact in basic black.

But that is not a very exciting font. Changing it to an "explosive" font is a good first step. The font is called Badaboom.

Add a little color. A nice fiery red.

Next we add a black stroke of 2 pixels.

And to make it more readable, we increase the space between the letters.

To add a bit more impact the red color is converted to a red and yellow gradient, kind of like a fire.

Now we add a slight curve.

For more impact we stretch out the kaaa sound and increase the boom sound. You cn almost hear an explosion.
Next we make the fonts thicker. This is simple to do. Just copy the original, color the letters black and move them a bit. Repeat two or three times until you get the thickness you need.

Last we add some special effects. Also simple to do. One a seperate layer draw the design you want. Fill it with any color. Then merge it with the text layer that has the gradient fill.

Each step only took a few seconds to do, so you can try lots of variations in a short time to get the effect your really want.
To the left is a book I found very helpful when looking for inspiration. I bought a used copy, which was a great deal.
Next time, we will talk about font resources where you can find both free fonts and some great fonts that are worth the small price they charge.
